UC San Diego alumnus and Triton magazine contributing photographer Erik Jepsen, Roosevelt ’10, shows his dedication with this nighttime shot of a total lunar eclipse of a supermoon over the Stuart Collection’s Fallen Star installation. Says Jepsen, “Spiders were crawling around me on the ground, hand bitten and body contorted, I waited until the moon filled my frame. The scene lasted ten minutes before the moon was gone, but I was able to capture the photo! Success!” The effort was definitely worth it; this shot won’t come around again until October 8, 2033.
