Letter from the Chancellor

UC San Diego has nearly 200,000 alumni around the globe who are using their education to improve our society and planet. Just as our alumni are having a positive impact and making our world a better place, we are actively transforming our campus to make it better for our Triton family and community.

It has been only one year since we publicly announced the Campaign for UC San Diego. In this short time, we have made tremendous strides in our physical, intellectual and cultural evolution—from adding more student housing and new facilities that enliven our campus, to creating a connected campus with new pathways and bridges, to the impending arrival of the
UC San Diego Blue Line trolley.

I’m proud that more than half of our Campaign Cabinet is made up of UC San Diego alumni, dedicated individuals who have volunteered to guide the growth of the university in service of next-generation Tritons. I’m encouraged by the more than 10,000 alumni who supported the Campaign in the past year alone. And I am continually impressed by the accomplishments of our alumni around the world, who embody our spirit of innovation, collaboration and service.

Alumni have always been a part of UC San Diego’s legacy of excellence—from the first class of undergraduates who received degrees 50 years ago, to the thousands who will turn their tassels in June. As the number of Tritons worldwide continues to grow, now more than ever, alumni are influencing the future of our institution and helping to shape our university’s direction and transformation.

As UC San Diego alumni, you are forever part of our Triton family. I hope you feel a sense of pride in the ongoing transformation of your university, and I thank you for being a part of it.

With kind regards,

Pradeep K. Khosla
